Food Pass Door Retrofit

Every law enforcement facility needs the necessary prison cafeteria equipment. PSI has created a food pass door that combines utility with the highest level of security. Different size, mounting, and hinge options ensure that PSI's food pass door will safely and practically outfit any jail cell. In addition to food pass doors, PSI also manufacturers a pass thru for ultimate safety handling.

The food pass door itself is made from 7-gauge flat steel door and reinforcement plate. The 7-gauge steel frame is 2” wide, with all four sides cut and notched at each corner to create square corners, and four 3/8” mounting holes. Standard hinges on the PSI food pass door are two 3” by 3” 10-gauge steel butt hinges, with non-removable pins and 90-degree hold-open brackets. For the locking mechanism, this piece of prison cafeteria equipment comes prepped for a detention deadbolt lock, with a concealed bolt receiver. The food pass door is finished with a chemical degreaser and one coat of rust-inhibitive primer.

Food Pass Doors in Standard and Custom Sizes

PSI’s food pass door comes in a standard size, to fit a 5” by 15 1/2” opening, but custom sizes are available. Give PSI your required measurements and we will create food pass doors to fit with your existing prison cafeteria equipment. In addition to custom sizes, the food pass door has an anchorage option, with 3/8” holes for mounting with security screws. PSI also offers other hinge choices, such as continuous piano hinges or 3” by 3” detention hinges as shown.

PSI offers a food pass retrofit to mount into a hole cut into an existing cell door. It consists of A Z part frame that encapsulates the opening, 7-gauge flat steel door and reinforcement plate, standard food pass hinges & prepped for detention food pass lock, or finger pull.     the backside of the opening. Accommodates 1 3/4" & 2" thick doors.

  • Lock: Prepped for detention deadbolt lock, concealed bolt receiver.
