PSI manufactures a line of steel safety shelves, for storage in jail cells. Each shelf design can be securely wall mounted. Some shelves come with safety hooks, to allow light items, such as clothing, to be hung up, but to prevent the hanging of heavier objects.
The steel safety shelf with 4 collapsible hooks is comprised of a back plate, a shelf, and the four hooks. The 10-gauge steel back plate measures 12” by 16”, and comes with 4 3/8” mounting holes. The shelf is 16” wide and 18” deep. It, too, is made from 10-gauge steel, with sloped sides and a 1” hemmed front edge. Four collapsible safety hooks are fillet welded to the back plate. The shelf is finished with a chemical degreaser and a rust-inhibitive primer.
Another popular PSI shelf for jail cells is the safety shelf with 4 ball & socket hooks. The 14-gauge stainless steel back plate is 18” by 12” by 1”. It is secured to a shelf, 18” wide by 8” deep, also of 14-gauge steel. The steel shelf has sloped sides and a 1” hemmed front edge. This shelf houses four stainless steel, ball and peg type of safety hooks. It is anchored to the wall with security screws. The finish is #4 on the stainless steel, with a blasted finish on the shelf surface.
PSI’s wall mount TV shelf, with fully welded construction, has a 12-gauge mild steel pan, which measures 24” wide by 16” deep, with 1” high flanges on all four sides. The cantilever is 2” by 3” 11-gauge steel tubing, welded to the wall plate and the underside of the pan. It measures 18” in length and holds the back of the shelf pan 2” off the wall. The 7-gauge back plate is 6” by 14”, with 3/8” holes for bolting to the wall. This product can also be field welded to embed. The wall mount TV shelf is sized large enough to accommodate at 27” TV set. PSI also offers the option of a 36” wide by 30” deep shelf, for monitors up to 35”. The swivel-type mount is another option.
