Prison Furniture - Jail Stools, Detention Benches & Handcuff Benches
PSI manufactures prison furniture including standard jail stools and detention benches, and bunks. The prisoner stools and prisoner benches all have standard steel construction, welded assembly and solid floor mountings. Seating is made to standard sizes and finishes, but other options are available. Many are frequently used as an addition to standard prison cafeteria equipment.
FMS-200 FLOOR MOUNT STOOL
The floor mount stool with stainless steel top has a seat made of 14-gauge, type 304 stainless steel. Its diameter measures 12”, with a depth of 1 1/2”, and a spun #4 finish. The prisoner stool seat is reinforced by a full surface 7-gauge steel plate, which is stitch welded to the underside and welded to the pedestal. The pedestal is a 2” schedule 40 steel pipe, with an 18” overall height from the floor to the top of the seat. The 1/4” steel base plate is 8” square, with four 1/2” holes for bolting to the floor. It is welded to the bottom of the pedestal, and all joints are welded and ground smooth. The finish is a chemical degreaser and a universal rust-inhibitive primer.

- Seat top: 14 ga. type 304 stainless steel top, 12" dia. x 1 1/2" deep with a spun #4 finish.
- Reinforcement: full surface x 7 ga steel reinforcement plate, stitch welded to under side of seat & weld to pedestal.
- Pedestal: 2" schedule 40 (2 - 3/8" o.d.) steel pipe pedestal, with overall height of 18" from floor to top of seat.
- Base plate: 8" x 8" x 7 ga. steel base plate, w/ 4 - 1/2" dia. holes for bolting to
floor. Welded to bottom of pedestal.
- All joints welded & ground smooth.
- Finish: Chemically degreased & 1 coat universal rust inhibitive primer.
WMS-200 WALL MOUNT SWING STOOL
DESCRIPTION: WALL MOUNTED SWING STOOL
- Seat: 12" dia. x 1 1/2" deep x 14 ga. stainless steel seat, with a 7 ga. steel plate welded to underside.
- Bracket: 3/8" steel plate bracket, welded to seat reinforcement plate & to swivel pin.
- Swivel pin: 1" dia. steel pin.
- Mounting plate: 6" x 16" x 3/8" steel mount plate, drilled to thru bolt to wall
or field weld to embed plate cast into concrete.
- Fully-welded construction.
- Finish: Chemically degreased & coated with 1 coat rust inhibitive primer.
- Swing stop: Prevents seat from swinging into wall.
- Options: Arm length can vary to any desired length.
Floor Mount Pedestal Detention Bench
Another standard prisoner bench by PSI is the floor mount pedestal detention bench. Its 10-gauge steel formed steel top is 12” wide with 1 1/2” deep flanges on all four sides. The pedestals are 2” diameter schedule 40 steel pipe posts, with 7-gauge steel reinforcing plates at the top. An 8” by 8” by 7-gauge steel base plate at the bottom has 1/2” holes for expansion bolts to fasten it to the floor.
For the finish, this prisoner bench is chemically degreased and coated with a rust-inhibitive primer. Other options include heavier gauge steel and steel brackets for wall mounting. PSI’s floor mount pedestal bench comes in standard 6’ and 8’ lengths, but can also be made to other desired lengths.
All jail stools & prisoner benches are available with handcuff rings or handcuff bars that can be mounted to the wall or directly to the detention bench or stool.
FB-200 FLOOR MOUNT PEDESTAL BENCH

- Top: 10 ga. formed steel top, 12" wide x 1 1/2" deep flanges on all sides.
- Pedestals: 2" schedule 40 (2 3/8" O.D.) steel pipe posts, with 1 - 10 ga. steel reinforcing plate @ top, & 8" x 8" x 7 ga. steel base plate w/ 1/2" dia. holes for
expansion bolts to floor, 36" max. pedestal spacing, 18" height.
- Finish: Chemically degrease, & 1 coat rust inhibitive primer.
- All joints fully welded & ground smooth.

Floor Mount Detention Bench
PSI's floor mount wood top detention bench measures 18" high by 19 1/2" deep, and can be cut to the desired length. It includes a prisoner bench made from two laminated hardwood planks, each 1 1/4" thick and 9 1/2" wide. The frame is comprised of 3/8" by 2 1/4" steel flat bar floor brackets with cross bracing. Expansion anchors go into holes measuring 1/2" in diameter at the floor flanges, and 3/8" on the top flange for carriage bolts into the underside of the wood planks. Carriage bolts are tack welded so they cannot be removed.
The prisoner bench is finished with two coats of clear satin polyurethane on the wood, and prime finish on the steel brackets. Other options involve using wider planks to make a deeper bench and 7-gauge steel brackets for wall mounting.

- Top: Laminated hardwood bench top, two 1 1/4" thick x 9 1/2" wide planks.
- Frame: 3/8" x 2 1/4" steel flat bar floor brackets with cross bracing w/ 1/2" dia. holes @ floor flanges for expansion anchors. Planks fastened with 1/4" carriage screws through bolted w/ lock nuts.
- Finish: 2 coats of clear satin polyurethane finish on wood prime finish on steel brackets.
- Size: 18" high x 19 1/2" deep x desired length.
